Which meal would you prefer?
Easy choice. Now think how you would feel if you ate the second option every day for every meal. How would you feel? Would that change your outlook on life?
How do changes in the "compass" characteristics affect the sustainability in a country? Think back to the French Revolution and what needed to push people over the edge in order to want a revolution.

- Variety of sausages, cheese, bread, carrots, turnips, and beans.
- Turnips with bread made from a flour/sawdust mixture.

In groups discuss any changes in the compass that were shown in the film, Nazis Helped into Power.
As a class we will also look at a handout (can be found on page 138 of GCSE Modern World History book) showing impacts of WWI and both classify them in regards to the compass and rank in importance.
Homework:
Read handout "The Birth of the Weimar Republic" (can be found on page 139 of GCSE Modern World History book). Make sure to hilight and translate any words you don't recognize.
In your journal answer the following:
Imagine you are advising Ebert (Germany's first President). Explain what you think are the three most serious challenges that need tackling urgently.
As a class we will also look at a handout (can be found on page 138 of GCSE Modern World History book) showing impacts of WWI and both classify them in regards to the compass and rank in importance.
